2023 Solitaire- Sourced from Whitewater Hill Vineyard in Grand Junction, this is our first time making wine from Rkatsiteli, a grape native to the Republic of Georgia. This wine features aromatic notes of Gala apple, orange zest, cinnamon, and allspice. On the palate, flavors of lemon, honeydew, and a hint of mint make for a nicely balanced wine that can go with a variety of foods. While the spice elements lend this wine to pair well with Asian dishes, it can also pair brilliantly with soups, salads, and charcuterie.
Made from Chambourcin, a classic cold hardy hybrid, this rosé has a deep magenta color despite a short skin contact of 75 minutes. Flavors of cranberry and strawberry abound, along with a hint of pomegranate. Ample acidity makes this wine great for those hot days of summer, and makes it pair nicely with a wide variety of salads and appetizers.
2023 Gruner Veltliner, Grand Valley. The primary grape variety of Austria, Gruner has shown success in Palisade, but ripens early in the season, which is why it was the first wine pressed with our new wine press purchased in August 2023. Notes of lemon, pea, and lentil on the nose, followed by a lighter body and medium acidity in the mouth. This wine can go with a variety of salads, vegetable dishes, cured meats, and more.
Gold Medal winner, 2024 Governor's Cup.Sourced as always from the Bonzek Vineyard in Palisade, this wine features beautiful aromatics of lychee fruit, honeydew, and ripe peach. On the palate, it brings a slight sweetness alongside the strong fruit flavors. Perfect for Thanksgiving or a variety of other cuisines. 0.6% residual sugar.
2023 Viognier is a highly aromatic white wine that captivates with its vibrant bouquet and rich texture. Known for its full-bodied nature, this wine delights the senses with flavors of ripe stone fruits like peach, apricot, and nectarine, complemented by delicate floral notes of jasmine and honeysuckle. Subtle hints of spice, vanilla, or citrus blossom add complexity, creating a well-rounded and luxurious tasting experience.
With a smooth mouthfeel and balanced acidity, Viognier is versatile enough to enjoy on its own or paired with a variety of dishes. Its refreshing yet opulent profile makes it an excellent match for seafood, roasted chicken, creamy pastas, and even spiced Asian cuisines.
Made from Aromella, a newer cold hardy hybrid developed in Geneva, New York, this is our second time producing this wine. A blend of Bonzek and Sauvage vineyards, this features a slight sweetness, with hints of honeysuckle and orange blossom on the nose. Flavors of peach, papaya, and grapefruit mingle on the palate.
This wine was sourced fully from Whitewater Hill Vineyard west of Palisade. Many members may recall the unoaked 2019 Chardonnay, which also came from this site, and also had a hint of salinity alongside plentiful notes of ripe fruit. Notes of pineapple, papaya, and Gala apple on the nose, with hints of lemon and honey on the palate. 2% residual sugar helps to make this a wine that can pair with a huge variety of foods, from spinach salad and blue cheese to Easter ham and even Chinese dishes.
A classic Central Coast California Chardonnay- notes of citrus and toasted nuts on the nose, leading to a fine balance of creamy texture but with sufficient freshness and acidity to pair well with foods. This is one style that pleases almost everyone!
