Sourced from Lee Vineyard in Palisade, this cold hardy cultivar provides a nice style to enjoy in the fall, with its slight similarity to Pinot noir. Aromas of cherry and plum alongside notes of mushroom and forest. This wine contains a lower tannin content and higher alcohol due to the warm vintage, which makes it a versatile wine that could go well with a variety of meals.
A cold hardy Minnesota variety that was one of the only vines to produce fruit in Colorado during the 2021 vintage, which was largely decimated by the late October freeze of 2020. It comes flying out of the glass with notes of raspberry jam, figs, rose petals, plus a hint of cola. Ample acidity and lower tannins in the mouth make this a nice pairing for dishes ranging from roast chicken with spring fingerling potatoes to a fig and prosciutto pizza. 94% Verona, 5% Petite Sirah, 1% Petit Verdot, aged in 100% neutral French oak. Due to federal and state wine label regulations, customers in some states will who have us to ship their wine will receive this wine labelled as Vendetta rather than Verona.
One of only two varieties we received out of Colorado in the “lost” vintage of 2021 (the other being Verona). This is our 3rd time releasing a wine from this grape, but the first that has been red as opposed to rosé. A cold hardy hybrid that was popular in Bordeaux during the mid-20th century, this grape produces wines with a lighter tannin profile and beautiful raspberry and strawberry flavors with a slight earthiness— similar to Pinot Noir. Aged in 100% neutral French Oak, this wine is easy drinking and great with either salmon or chicken.
One of the favorite varieties grown by Kaibab Sauvage in Palisade, CO, this version is 93% Malbec, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1% Petit Verdot. Notes of blackberry, vanilla and woodsmoke on the nose, followed by moderate tannins and deep flavors of black fruit and baking spice integrated together by aging in 45% new oak. Try with a variety of grilled meats, as they might in the home of Malbec, Argentina.
Silver medal, 2024 Governor's Cup. Sourced from the Hawk's Nest Vineyard in Dolores, this is only the second time we have been able to make a Colorado Pinot noir. Situated at 6800', this is believed to be the highest Pinot noir vineyard on Earth, and fermented at the highest winery to boot! Light in color with aromatics of strawberry, rose, and cedar, followed by flavors of cherry, fig, and mushroom, with a hint of oak. A balanced Pinot that is great on its own or with dishes like salmon, roast chicken, or grilled Portobello mushroom.
This Reserve blend is crafted from 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Petite Sirah, and 10% Cabernet Franc. It is a 100% Colorado Proud wine with grapes from the Grand Valley AVA.
The king of all grapes and for good reason, as Cab is always highly requested. This wine was sourced from Colavita Family Vineyards in the Lodi region of California’s Central Valley, and was one of the last fields picked in the warm year of 2021. A lighter, fruitier style of Cab that is perfect for summertime, this wine features notes of boysenberry and redcurrant, alongside hints of cedarwood and plum. Aged in 20% new oak, it has a gentle mouthfeel with a soft vanilla finish.
