Our California wines are Colorado produced from grapes grown in California's best known wine regions, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, and at our own Gold Creek Vineyard in the Sierra Foothills.
Our California wines are produced by Jeffrey and Ana Maltzman, who created their first wine blend in 1996 and today own the award winning Navigator winery in Napa and Gold Creek winery in California's Sierra Foothills. In 2016, their Navigator wine won the Sunset Magazine International Wine Competition with the highest rated 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon in the New World.
Jeffrey and Ana are dedicated to sustainable winemaking and organic viticulture. While their Navigator winery utilizes the latest state of the art winemaking technologies, Gold Creek's California winery is one of the world’s only completely off grid solar powered wineries. Gold Creek also has the distinction of being the smallest winery in the smallest city in the State of California (Amador City – Population 103 people, two horses, three goats, and our Australian Shepard winery dog Timber).
As the only Colorado winery with our own California wine production facility, we process our California fruit fresh from the vineyard at our California wineries before transporting it in temperature controlled trucks to our Rocky Mountain winery. This helps ensure our California wines are produced with fresh from the field fruit despite the distance between Colorado and our California vineyards.
